Sweetwater Center for the Arts BIPOC Comedy Show
Join us as we close out our Mavuno celebrations for a special comedy presentation by Gaslight Comedy! This event will also serve as the closing reception for our Mavuno exhibition, Visions in Motion, which will be free and open to the public from 6-7 p.m.
The Gaslight Comedy show will take place from 7-9 p.m. for an admission of $25 a ticket. Seating is first come, first serve. Doors open at 6 p.m. Ticket holders will be checked in upon admission and receive a wristband. No outside food or drink permitted. Wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.
We are pleased to welcome Learnmore Jonsai as our performer! Learnmore Jonasi is a Zimbabwean stand-up comedian and actor. He stands at over 6 feet, his comedy is brought to life by past experiences, observations and his view (from the top) which elicit rib-tickling laughs, regardless of the crowd.
He has performed with and alongside the biggest names on the African Continent and performed in over 25 cities across 15 countries at various Theatres, Festivals, Comedy clubs, and on TV Shows. Most recently, he was the winner at the 2023 Boston Comedy Festival.
In 2019 he won the National Arts Merit Awards as the Outstanding Comedian of the Year, the Savanna Comic Choice Awards as the Pan African Comic of the Year, and he was the People’s Choice Award winner in Steve Harvey’s Stand Up Spotlight competition. He can be seen touring all over the United States since 2022.

Mystery Science Theater 3000
If you’re a fan of “B-Movies” and comedy, you’ll love what we have we in store!
Gaslight Comedy is partnering with Row House Cinema (Lawrenceville) to present a live movie-roasting event. Join a panel of Pittsburgh’s funniest local comedians while you all simultaneously watch a movie so bad it’s good! The comedians will mic’d up and ready to roast every nonsensical and hilariously unbelievable aspect of this soon-to-be-disclosed B-movie.
And, hey, if you’re in the audience and have a funny thought, don’t be afraid to join in! Maybe it’ll be the funniest comment of the night - or maybe it’'ll be so bad it’ll get you roasted, too!

South Side Arts Festival
Celebrate the beauty of the South Side with Gaslight Comedy!
We’re partnering with the South Side Arts Festival, which will be held on Friday, October 18th at Velum Fermentation, to throw a post-festival stand-up comedy show at Ascend South Side. Enjoy the festivities of the day, including arts booths, food trucks, incredible drinks, and fun for the whole family, then come back to the Southside for the Gaslight Comedy show on Saturday, October 19th! Doors open for seating at 7:30 and the show will begin promptly at 8:30.
This show will feature Pittsburgh’s top comedians to be a true showing of the Best of the ‘Burgh! Celebrate Pittsburgh with us the best way we know how. Headlined by Ed Bailey, this incredible show will also feature local favorites, Georgia Warder, Jeff Fieldhouse, Zivan Vasquez, and Cass Goodworth. The night will be hosted by Amir Abdallah and Eben Parker.

Brittany Alexis
Gaslight Comedy is proud to present a Pittsburgh favorite, Brittany Alexis! Brittany, a member of Steel City Arts Foundation and a featured act at Bottlerocket Social Hall, The Carnegie Library of Homestead, and Don't Tell Comedy, is popular for her natural, down-to-earth, and friendly style.
Brittany is beloved for her wildly fun and unbelievably true stories about her life, upbringing, and time as a lawyer and public defender. In true Gaslight fashion, Brittany will have you laughing from the moment she touches the stage!
Brittany will share the stage with some of Pittsburgh's funniest rising stars in the comedy scene, including Alyssa Marie (Steel City Arts Foundation) and Brandon Johnson (Pittsburgh Improv).

Joe Esch
Gaslight Comedy is proud to present one of our favorite local comedians, Joe Esch. Joe is a Pittsburgh favorite and frequent performer for Gaslight Comedy, Bottlerocket, and Don't Tell Comedy. Joe has also opened for some of the biggest names in comedy including Joe Pera, Sam Tallent, and Andrea Jin.
Joe is revered for his exciting and fast paced brand of comedy. Pulling from wacky topics and from honest truths about his life as a young queer comic in Pittsburgh, Joe will confuse and astound you, while keeping you laughing until the wheels fall off!
Joe will share the stage with some of Pittsburgh's funniest rising stars in the comedy scene, hosted by Gaslight Comedy's own Eben Parker.

Lukas Arnold
Gaslight Comedy presents nationally touring, NYC based comedian, Lukas Arnold! Lukas is a comedian and actor especially known as a content creator (@lukastarnold on all socials) with a total of over three million followers.
Lukas has performed with sketch group, 24 Hour Kiss Club, and hosts two podcasts: "Two Nosy Meerkats" and "What's Your Spiral?" Performing standup across the country, he’s been featured as a 2023 creator to watch at New York Comedy Fest, at the Asheville Comedy Fest, Vermont Comedy Fest, Haha Harvest Comedy Fest and the Edinburgh Fringe.
Coming in for one of Gaslight Comedy's biggest shows yet, Lukas Arnold will be sharing the stage with some of Pittsburgh best and funniest local stand-up comedians, including Jesse Feng and Nate Nagvajara!
This incredible night of comedy fun will be hosted by Gaslight Comedy's own Cass Goodworth!

Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Max Baer spent his lifetime advocating for children and families, particularly children who found themselves in untenable
circumstances through no fault of their own. Please help us continue the legacy by attending Pittsburgh’s comedy event of the year. Proceeds will support life-enriching opportunities for children in foster care, children with physical and/or intellectual disabilities, and so much more.
About Rocky Laporte:
Rocky Laporte has filmed his own Comedy Central Presents special and was voted the network’s second most popular comedian in a nationwide poll. He has performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and appeared on A&E‘s Evening At The Improv and VH1‘s Stand-Up Spotlight, along with sitcom appearances on Cheers and his own NBC pilot called the Rocky LaPorte Show. Rocky has opened for the likes of Garry Shandling, Drew Carey, Tim Allen, Louie Anderson, Hootie and the Blowfish and the Righteous Brothers, just to name a few. His clean, blue-collar style of comedy continues to increase in popularity as he travels the country.
